Notes from the plane...

Notes on the trip so far...

I’m writing from the plane on our way to Beijing. It’s 1:50 a.m, Saturday, back home in PEI. I’ll post this when we get to our hotel. By then it will be 7:30ish Saturday evening in China.

Our day started with a wake up call from my BIL, Graham. We didn’t intend it that way, but Marv set the alarm clock for 6:45 instead of 5:45 :) So thanks to Graham (our driver) we were up and on our way on time. Just as we were walking out the door, one of the buckles on Marvin’s "man bag" broke. The duct tape came in handy right off the bat...

Our flight was to leave Charlottetown at 9:15 a.m but was delayed until 10:30. This allowed us time to enjoy a nice breakfast at the airport. We arrived in Halifax with just enough time to sit for a minute and board the next plane. We landed in Toronto with a few hours to spare so we had a bite to eat and relaxed. We met up with Jan and John, another couple from PEI, who are on their way to adopt their soon-to-be six year-old son, Sean. We are so lucky to be travelling with another family from PEI!! It was then time to board the plane for the 13 hour flight to Beijing.

We left Toronto at 5:30 pm and it's now 2:00 am. We've been travelling since 7 a.m this morning so we're starting to feel a little worn out. It's difficult to sleep on the plane. We were both sleeping when all of the sudden, at midnight, the lights went on and our next meal was delivered! Soup and sandwich. Seemed odd to be eating that much at midnight. The plane food leaves a lot to be desired...

4.5 more hours and we'll touch down in the land that will give us our second daughter. We're so close now!!!
